I’ve been a Community Pharmacist since 2016 when I started my career and have worked for various sized pharmacy businesses during that time.

I’ve held roles such as;

• Responsible Pharmacist for a flagship store including over 50 care homes

• Monitored Dosage Systems department lead for over 250 patients

• Lead/Governance Pharmacist for a 30,000 item independent pharmacy

• Community Pharmacist PCN Lead

• Current Community Pharmacy Local Committee independent representative

• PDA Regional Committee Member

I gained a strong interest in the extensive governance process behind Community Pharmacy when I was unexpectedly asked to assist with a pharmacy that was failing to meet its governance standards early in my career. This experience truly opened my eyes to numerous gaps within the education and teachings provided to individuals who wished to embark on a professional career within Community Pharmacy. Furthermore, I now notice those significant gaps becoming increasingly apparent when I engage in discussions with colleagues who, unfortunately, remain unaware of some of their essential obligations and responsibilities in this field.

Now, I wish to extend my support to those individuals who may be struggling to clearly see how to effectively progress with their business endeavors. It is crucial to ensure that they are providing the safe and effective standards that are not only mandated by existing policies and terms, but also, and most importantly, for the overall benefit of the patients to whom we provide these essential services.
